The college has introduced the system of mentoring the students by maintaining a mentoring register and diary at departmental level. In this system the academic responsibility of a group of students is fixed on a particular faculty who provides personal care and guidance to the students registered under him. Currently, WhatsApp mentoring is growing.
Students belonging to SC, ST, OBC are entitled to govt. scholarships. The scholarship holders are required to observe strict discipline and maintain regular class attendance.

*Mukheswar Bora Prerona Award (Awarded to student securing highest marks in Degree Examination (Arts/Science) in the college.
*Dr. Bharat Ch. Bora Memorial Trust Scholarship (This scholarship takes care of the expenses incurred during the academic years in the college of BPL student(s) on the basis of merit and consistently good performance.)
*Puspadhar Kharghariya Memorial Trust Scholarship (This scholarship will be offered to two meritorious but economically poor students of Charigaon Mouza, Jorhat on getting admission in to H.S. 1st year at Bahona College.)
Besides, all the departments, of their own, arranges programmes on course and career counselling, workshop on minor academic matters such as note preparation, treatment of answer script etc.
The college has provisions of cent percent or partial free studentship on merit-cum mean basis, particularly for students of BPL families. Some need-based fees relaxation provisions are also there for meritorious and regular students of economically backward families.
The college has a Students Aid Fund to help the needy and meritorious students. Aid is offered in both cash and kind.
All the departments have departmental libraries and book banks. Apart from issuing books from departmental libraries at periodical basis, book grant is provided to the needy students from the book bank for an academic session.
Apart from the general and tutorial classes of normal routine, there is also a provision for remedial classes in the subjects in which students' performance is found to be poor.
A programme of course counselling is held in the college before admission and its date is notified either in the notice board or published in the local news paper.
Programmes of career counselling, particularly for the final year students are held from time to time and students are made aware of the job opportunities in different fields. There is also a Career Counselling Cell to collect career information and bring it to the notice of the students.
The college has been providing coaching for entry into certain jobs to the outgoing students as well as educated and unemployed youth either free of cost or at nominal cost.
The college has provisions of study tours with the assistance from college fund and also with government/UGC financial assistance. The tours are meant either for field study or for educational excursions.
The Academic Development Cell of the College organizes programmes and workshops to assist the students in their academic performances.
Motivational programmes are organized periodically in the college focussing on self-employment and development of local potentials and entrpreneurial skills.
Students are also made aware of socio-economico-environmental issues as well as health hazards through certain programmes organized either by the college or in collaboration with NGOs & GOs. The college also provides infrastructural facilities to social activists.
The college administration and the departments try to provide special care for differently abled students. Measures are taken to assimilate the students with the general student fraternity
The alumni organization of the college is actively working for students' support through different programmes and projects. The alumni of the college successfully established in different fields are invited to the college on different occasions to interact with the students which may inspire and motivate them to strive for success.
Feed back from students, faculties and parents are taken on course, routine, teaching-learning quality, accomodation, atmosphere, administration etc. and necessary support and corrective steps are taken there after.
This cell organizes counselling and training programmes for students' self employment. It also organizes exhibition programmes to familiarize the students with local opportunities for self employment .
This cell addresses the complaints and problems of the students. The cell is managed by a special committee to analyze the complaints or grievances and to suggest corrective measures to the authority.
It is a newly established student support fund managed by the teachers of the college under the chairmanship of the Principal. The fund offers financial support to needy and meritorious students to pursue higher education. Donations are accepted from people both inside and outside the college fraternity to benefit a greater number of students.
The IQAC has introduced an Orientation Course for the students of SSDC to fill the lapse in mission of the College, not met by the regular courses.
The health care centre of Bahona College works for - blood group registration, studying health problems of the students and taking follow up actions, organizing medical camps and communicating with medical departments and doctors in emergency situations during working hours and when the periodical health check up programmes are organized. The Health Care Centre is patronized by the Public Health Centre, Saraimaria Gaon and Collaborated by Enajori, a local NGO working for blood donation.
Internal Complaints Committee has been formed to make the stakeholders of the college more gender sensitive and to provide judicial and counseling services to the needy ones in the context gender issues.
Regular students of Community College is awarded Rs. 1000/- per month.
One seat in both Science and Arts Streams is reserved for students coming from the village under Extension Care Programme.
Bahona College thrives for capacity building and skill enhancement initiatives. This forms a part of the vision and mission of the institute. Capacity building and skill enhancement initiatives are guided by the College Perspective Plan and the Teaching- Learning and Evaluation policy also. Every year various programmes are conducted as a part of capacity building and skill development initiatives for the students. Apart from the categories mentioned by NAAC i.e. soft skills, language and communication skills, life skills (yoga, physical fitness, health and hygiene), and ICT/computing skills, the institution also conducts programmes under different heads. Soft skills are basically the personal attributes like time-management, networking, team-work, creative thinking, conflict resolution, clear communication, listening skills, assertiveness, self-control and so on. The institute relentlessly thrives for development of soft skill among its students through various workshops, talks, seminars and also in-classroom training. Language and communication skills basically has four parts- listening, speaking, reading and writing. The institution encourages the students to develop in these four areas to have an analytical outlook while approaching any job at hand for effective and better communication. The various programmes associated with language and communication skills focuses on the areas where the students need improvement and help them communicate better. According to WHO, life skills are defined as a group of psycho-social competencies and inter-personal skills that help people make informed decisions, solve problems, think critically and creatively, communicate effectively, build healthy relationships, empathies with others, and cope with and manage their lives in a healthy and productive manner. Life skills may be directed other personal actions or action towards others as well as towards change the surrounding environment to make it conducive to health. ICT/computing skills refer to the ability to converse through various technologies.
At Bahona college, apart from the mentioned categories various programmes, workshops, talks etc. are conducted which is included in curriculum and co-curriculum activities. These programmes are conducted in experimental and experiential methods both on-campus and off-campus mode. Some of these programmes are digital which most of them are physical. Various cells like NCC, NSS, Women Cell, Placement Cell, Academic Development Cell, Research and Consultancy Cell, Studentsâ Union are associated with these activities. They also collaborate with various individual, institutes and agencies.
