Bahona College offers different courses in distance mode under Assam State Open School, K K Handiqui State open University and Dibrugarh University to provide opportunities for higher education to a larger segment of the population, including working people, housewives and other adults who wish to upgrade or acquire knowledge through studies in various fields or to those who are unable to pursue higher education at the appropriate time due to one reason or the other.

ASSAM STATE OPEN SCHOOL(ASOS)

Vision

ASOS, a pioneer organization in the area of Open and Distance Learning (ODL), runs under Assam Higher Secondary Education Council and plays a pivotal role in the promotion and development of Open and Distance Learning system of education in the State of Assam.

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum HSLC or Class X passed from a recognized Board/Council.
A fresh HSLC/Class X passed learner may also take admission, but there must be a two-year gap from the year of passing HSLC/Class X to appear in all papers and obtain the qualifying certificate.

Important to Note

Passed learners may appear for improvement/betterment in a maximum of four subjects; the better of the two marks will be counted.
Passed learners may re-appear in all subjects; marks obtained in the later sitting will be considered.
For practical subjects, candidates must appear in both theory and practical. The better result will be indicated in the marksheet.

KRISHAN KANTA HANDIQUE STATE OPEN UNIVERSITY(KKHSOU)

Vision

The University shall motivate and encourage the creation of enlightened human resources for holistic development and promote education to reach the unreached through the Open and Distance Learning system and disseminate knowledge in consonance with societal relevance.

Eligibility Criteria

As an aspiring applicant desiring to take admission into an academic programme offered by the University, it is expected that you thoroughly examine the eligibility criteria yourself. The following checklist will help you to screen your own eligibility for admission.

Medium of Instruction

Medium of instruction (course material, counselling, and examination) for programmes shall be Assamese and English.
Medium of instruction for P.G Diploma Programme shall be English.

Examination Related

Learners must have a valid registration number.
They must opt and pursue the prescribed course.
Required assignments must be submitted within due dates.
Examination form and requisite fees must be submitted on time (for back courses).
Admit card must be collected before examination.

Examination Form

A regular learner is not required to fill up any examination form to appear in the term end examination. However, a non-regular learner appearing for back/arrear courses must submit the examination form along with requisite fees to the Controller of Examinations through the Study Centre within stipulated time.

DIBRUGARH UNIVERSITY(DU)

Vision

The Directorate of Open and Distance Learning (D.O.D.L), Dibrugarh University has a vision to reach the unreached and impart excellent education.

Eligibility Criteria

As an aspiring applicant desiring to take admission into Post Graduate programmes offered by the University, it is expected that you thoroughly examine the eligibility criteria yourself. The following checklist will help you to screen your own eligibility for admission.

Medium of Instruction

Medium of instruction (course material, counselling, and examination) for Post Graduate programmes shall be English.
For M.A in Language subjects, the medium shall be the respective language.

Information on Examination & Evaluation

A student shall be required to appear in all papers of a course.
There shall be two annual examinations: Previous and Final for the M.A programme.
Provision for re-evaluation of answer scripts is available only for Post Graduate courses.
The Controller of Examinations shall notify examination dates and procedures as per D.U rules, at least 20 days in advance.
Examination fees for M.A Previous/Final examinations shall be fixed by the University from time to time and payable at the time of submission of examination forms.
