Computer science department was started from 1995 and attached to the Department of mathematics later on. Dibrugarh University had permitted to start computer science as a core subject in degree level from 1996-97 sessions at Bahona College. Bahona College was the first college to introduce computer science as a core subject in degree level in both arts and science. Now the department has a well equipped computer laboratory with 25 computers, one LCD Projector and one scanner cum printer. Mr. Surajit Chaliha was the founder teacher of this department.
